Do people fit in the super-society?
How organized can we be ?
Humans have an organizing brain ,they plan and classify automatically . Originally this organizing was all about life and survival…it worked well and still does. But after creating societies the organization of the group begins to differ from the organizations used by the individuals ,even if the organization of the group starts from the organizations of the members.
Fitting your life in the existence of the society was a non-trivial exercise ,it did not happen in the same way in all societies on earth (local societies). There was an influence of religion ( we suffer some of the results of that ,not of the religion but of the “organizational” differences it induced in the societies!) , politics ,economy .Some claim there was a difference in people’s characteristics ,like Chinese would be more apt to live in a large group ( a kind of bee-hive mentality) but Americans are more individual lone rangers . I do not believe the latter differences,the difference in structuring local societies are due to local structural differences ,the properties of the habitat and the demographic evolution of the society.
Organization went from individual or family level to society level but then went a step further ,to super-organization of organizations and institutes ,into the world of paper,documents,legal international constructions,data banks. This third organizational level is not directly related to survival ,it deals with economy and politics from behind non-transparent screens ,it seems to be free of individual or social interests at first sight ,but a second sight is only possible for “manipulators” allowed to be a member of a small group of people constructed not by democratic elections but by (legal or illegal) financial constructions . Perhaps the beginning of this system was the creation of banks ,these organizations are still very active players on the third level of international organization.
The few organizing the many organizing the individual .Is this structure of world order compatible with natural human life ?
No,it is not ! The situation depends a lot on the development of the justice system . The justice system itself became an instrument of the alienation of individuals from the organization of society ,it became a complex system with thick books of sometimes “strange” laws ,serving the legalization of international activities escaping the local laws everywhere. The system did not originate from a wish to bring a type of world justice,on the contrary it serves the legalization of exploitation of people and resources everywhere on earth,,it is constructed merely on financial benefit for the few. If you want to use the concept capitalism then it is clear that there are no anti-capitalistic regimes (even the ones we call communistic) ,the capital rules everywhere.
But just looking at the world with a philosophical eye ,it is clear that the world-organization is moving to higher levels of abstraction ,less and less involved with the real people ,which obviously do not recognize their interests in the globalized organization of organizations in a society that begins to look more like virtual reality.
In such a world…. we cannot be happy as a society.
Politics deals with the strategy for organizing society,on the level of individuals it should solve the daily problems of life in society, on the social (society) level it should organize the group system to the benefit of every member dealing with city development,industry and economy ,education for all members ,work and entertainment,etc… .
That second level requires an extensive administration ,not being a self-sufficient institute but a public service for all. The administration requires administrators working for the common benefit,not for the new entities ,created by the administration as a super-society ,which are aimed at the growth of “organizations” and “institutions” created by the leaders of the system,visible or invisible! That growth is always translated in financial terms of gain and wrongly presented to the general public as “progress” via the machinery of propaganda ( mass media and advertisements of companies) presenting consumption as happiness and passive Barnum spectacles ,drowning in advertisements ,as entertainment .
The simple street musician or the kids playing football at the square are unnoticed but their commercially blown-up versions fill the heads of “sedated” people.
The new entities regulating and benefiting from organizing the institutions and organizations now globalized on a world scale infect all constructions at all levels of society,e.g. the unions come in different colors ,the national health is acting via institutions colored according to political parties ,the banks sell multi-national packets of stocks ,etc…. .
At the initial level of society ,many organize the life of most,if not all,individuals .By institutionalizing the idea of society we created a super-society of (international)organizations ,and a corresponding “higher” level of politics . Whereas on the initial level politics is necessarily social,dealing with people of flesh and blood , on the level of the super-society (not to be mistaken for high-society) politics presents itself as liberal . Liberal refers to freedom ,but this freedom is an abstract form of the notion ,it is the freedom of organizations,not of people ,it is expressed in gain and (false ) progress not in welfare of people and not in happiness in the society. People now learned that paper,documents,are more important than people ,you are your job ,your status in society only depends on your financial situation and your usefulness in a system making some unknown players richer .
I know I present a somewhat one-sided picture here ,there are other developments , a contra-culture finding it more and more difficult to find its way in the super-society . So-called underdeveloped countries do not fit in the super-society ,but usually the leaders of those countries are connected (financially)to it ,and the vertical paper constructions also determine the future for societies not belonging in the super-society. The only solution seems to be a drastic change of philosophy but what can bring that along? Should it be a total breakdown of civilization ,another world war ? Can it be a peaceful revolution contained in the genetic information of humanity? I do not know.
